Health Promotion Module User Guide

The Health Promotion module can be added onto the SIIS to track and send health-related mailings to children from birth through the age of six. Currently, there are 18 different weekly or yearly mailings that are sent based on the child's age. The data used for the mailings comes from:

The ACS is offered by the United States Postal Service (USPS) and is downloaded in a flat file from the ACS website once a week. This file is created from previous mail that was sent to parent(s) or guardian(s) that required an address change. Specifically, it contains the parent or guardian name(s) and the new address. This file is processed by IWeb's Data Translator Tool (DTT) and is used to update the patient's master record, as well as the Organization (IRMS) owning the patient record. Other reserve records for Organizations are not updated. This file is sent to the fulfillment provider for processing the physical mailings.

Data integrity is very important in this process and the data is validated before the mailings file is generated. The integrity of the patient demographic data is validated against a number of criteria, including:

Additionally, Early Notification of Childhood Death (ENCD) is downloaded once a week to check for children who have died.
